Freeze-dried organic instant coffee, microground, at 2,500 mg per stick. Freeze-dried rather than spray-dried because it dissolves completely in cold water — a stick pack that leaves grit at the bottom of the glass is a stick pack nobody finishes.
It is sourced through True Spice Foods, who are USDA Organic certified via CCOF, and SQF and NSF certified.
A note on the word organic: the coffee is organic, and we say so. The product as a whole is not certified organic, because coffee is roughly a third of the formula by weight and the USDA threshold for a product-level claim is 70 percent. So you will not see an organic claim on the box or anywhere on this site. The distinction matters and we would rather explain it than blur it.
150 mg per stick, declared. Part comes from the coffee itself and the rest from green tea extract, which lets the dose be measured rather than left to vary the way a brewed cup does.
That is roughly one strong cup. It is a deliberate number: enough to do the job before a session or a morning, not so much that a second stick later in the day becomes a problem.
200 mg. An amino acid found in tea leaves, and the reason 150 mg of caffeine here does not feel like 150 mg of caffeine from an energy drink. It slows the rise and takes the edge off the peak, so the curve is level rather than spiked.
500 mg sodium, 200 mg potassium, 150 mg magnesium.
The sodium comes from pink Himalayan salt, and it is the largest electrolyte dose for a reason — sodium is what you lose most of when you sweat. It also rounds off the bitterness of the coffee, the way a pinch of salt does in a pour-over.
Potassium is from potassium citrate and works alongside sodium to move water into the cell. Magnesium is magnesium malate, for muscle function and energy metabolism.
1,000 mg. An osmolyte, which means it helps cells hold water under heat and load. It also supports antioxidant defence in muscle and nerve tissue.
No sugar. No artificial sweeteners — the sweetness is monk fruit extract. No seed oils. No fillers, no bulking agents, and nothing in the formula whose job is to make the powder look like more than it is.
800 mg of Dutch process cocoa. Dutch process rather than natural because it reads smooth instead of sharp, which is what makes this taste like a mocha rather than coffee with cocoa in it.
